World Day for Cultural Diversity
On 20 May 2021, the Philippine Embassy joined the Cultural Festival organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Libya to celebrate the “World Day for Cultural Diversity.” The event was held at IOM Libya’s office in Hay Alandalous, Tripoli. Chargé d’Affaires Juan E. Dayang, Jr. met Mr. Federico Soda, Chief of Mission of IOM Libya.
The Embassy will continue to cooperate with IOM on the promotion of the welfare of Filipino migrants and intends to start partnership with IOM in the Embassy’s campaign for Ethical Recruitment.
Around 50 participants from different countries participated in the event, which comprised a global village, a video screening and awareness-raising session, a writers’ corner, a children’s corner, and cultural performances. During the cultural performances, children from the Filipino Community in Tripoli performed the Itik-Itik folk dance and “Heal the World” song number.
The event was supported by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
