Tripoli, 13 April 2022 - The Philippine Embassy in Tripoli, Libya, welcomes two new personnel, Messrs. Jonel Y. Mendoza and John Michael M. Barreno, who assumed their positions as Assistance-to-Nationals Officer and Consular Assistant, respectively, last 07 April 2022.

Mr. Mendoza takes over the position held by Mr. Francisco E. Enaje who was cross-posted to the Philippine Consulate General in New York, U.S.A. last month. He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2015 and has worked at the Office of the Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and International Economic Relations (OUMAIER) since then.

Mr. Mendoza received numerous commendations from the DFA and the Department of Trade and Industry for his work in OUMAIER. He has a degree in Political Science from De La Salle University—Dasmariñas. He hails from Cavite.

Meanwhile, Mr. Barreno takes over the position held by Ms. Jenny Abigail T. Caday who was cross-posted to the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, U.S.A. last month. He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2015 and has worked at the Visa Division of the Office of Consular Affairs since then.

Mr. Barreno received a Special Commendation from Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr., in 2021. He has a degree in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs from De La Salle University College of Saint Benilde. He hails from Manila.

Tripoli PE is the first foreign assignment of Messrs. Mendoza and Barreno. END
